Chapter 7

If some of the Brothers, driven by the enemy of our salvation, commit a mortal sin among those for which it has been established that only the Provincial Ministers should be addressed, they will be obliged to seek them out as soon as they can, without delay.

If the Ministers are priests, they should impose the penance on them with a spirit of gentleness; if they are not priests, they should have the penance imposed on them by other priests of the Order, as they judge to be more expedient according to God.

They must take great care not to become angry or upset regarding the sin that has been committed, because by giving in to anger, they destroy charity both in themselves and in others.
