To our beloved sons, Brother Francis and the other brothers of the Order of the Friars Minor, greetings and apostolic blessing.

The Apostolic See, being accustomed to granting pious requests and supporting the worthy desires of those who seek its favor, is inclined, our dearest sons in Our Lord, to grant your holy petitions.

Therefore, by apostolic authority, We confirm and uphold, through this present writing, the Rule of your Order, which was approved by Pope Innocent, of blessed memory, our predecessor, and which is set forth here in the following manner.
